Psychotherapy
Relationships are a central aspect of our lives, yet they can also be a source of many of our problems. From the moment we are born, we start learning how to relate, and our early life experiences create a template for how we interact with others. For instance, secure attachments in childhood can lead to healthier relationships in adulthood, while insecure attachments may result in anxiety or avoidance in connections.
Despite being hardwired for sociability, many of us find relationships challenging. You may struggle with beginning, maintaining, or ending relationships—whether professional, friendship, or intimate—and want to explore, understand, and ultimately improve how you relate to others.
Relational psychotherapy, grounded in attachment theory, invites you to use the relationship we build in the therapy room to explore how you relate to the people in your life outside of therapy. What makes this approach special is that I’m not just here to listen passively. I engage with you, share my thoughts and feelings; and together we’ll create a relationship where you can feel safe to express yourself. Our connection serves as a reflection of your patterns in relationships and provides an opportunity to better understand the dynamics at play in your interactions.
